WiCS Hackathon

  • I led backend development, designing a Node.js and PostgreSQL backend with REST APIs powering a geolocation system built on the Google Maps API to track and surface nearby performers.
  • I also built a conversational chatbot interface that let users ask natural-language questions like 'who's playing near me?' and receive results pulled directly from the geolocation data.
  • Competing against 50 teams selected from across the university, we won Best Hack.
  • The project strengthened my ability to design backend systems, write functional code under tight deadlines, and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to judges.

2026 National Medical Device Make-a-Thon

  • During the 48-hour National Medical Device Make-a-Thon, I collaborated with my team to design a foldable blue-light phototherapy device for treating neonatal jaundice.
  • Our design emphasized portability and a need-based distribution model intended to improve access in resource-limited countries where conventional phototherapy equipment may be unavailable.
  • Competing against more than 30 teams from universities across the country, our project earned second place in our division and fifth place overall.
  • The experience strengthened my skills in biomedical design, teamwork, rapid problem-solving, and communicating a technical solution under strict time constraints.
